POISON CONTROL

Yesterday was the scariest day of my parenting life.

Lauren drank up to 4 oz of children's Dimatap that I had stupidly left on the counter in the master bathroom. She is fine. With a quick call to Poison control & an even quicker trip to the ER, she was given charcoal to drink & was monitored for 4 hours. The ER Doc released her & said she was fine.

I never even thought that she could get it, would be interested in it, could open the bottle..... I have never been so scared in my life. I feel ashamed, bruised, stupid, hurt & so blessed that my little baby is ok

Here is the number to poison control

NO GIRLS ALLOWED

This morning Noah declared war against girls for the first time. Pete & I were both a bit taken by surprise when Noah launched his attack. Noah & I were building a train track in his room. For anyone out there who has not built a track for Thomas, its a long process, there is a reason that there are layouts that come with the toys. I however wanted to do it on my own & ended up with tracks that couldnt end. Failure in Noah's eyes. Lauren comes into Noahs room & decides to "help "( we lovingly call her Godzilla). This frustrates Noah to his wits end. Then he declares " I dont want to play with girls!!" "Mommy take Lauren & get out of my room. Daddy can fix all of this." " No girls allowed in here."
Peter who is standing the hallway, starts laughing. My face is burning, he is 4. Where did all of this come from? Has he forgotten that for a year it was just he, Lauren & I ? I made the tracks, the forts, the race tracks, played tag, I taught him to ride a bike, & silly as it sounds... to pee standing up.

Now I am getting tossed out for not being able to end a train track:(

After just a minute I calm down, because I reminded how lucky I am to have this little boy that is showing his "boy" side & he is so " in love" with his father, who at this point has done no wrong in his eyes. I feel the grace of God touching my life. I have this family, this amazing family, all because of my Lord.

Lauren & I stand up & go out to paint her toenails, purple.

Then sitting in my place on the floor is a smiling father & son team... who still can't end the tracks,

My BFF is a baseball

Wow its May, We are doing well here in Ohio. Still think we are in MI when we are in most places. Lots of U of M pride in this area!!! GO WOLVERINES!!! You know how something always reminds you of something else...
The kids are great. Noah now thinks that he & Lauren are twins. When we are at stores & they are in shopping carts, people tend to think that they are the same height. Little Lauren is just a few inches shorter, but they wear the same clothing size. So anyways Noah tells everyone he is a twin, we get a ton of chuckles, because most everyone he tells has known us a lifetime. Fibs, Fibs!! Gotta start breaking that habit soon.
Lauren has become best friends with a MudHens baseball. Its super cute & girly, pink & white with Muddy on it. The baseball had its own space at breakfast this morning. I however had just about enough of the baseball when Lauren demanded a napkin & a big girl cup of juice for it. I just couldnt believe that the strawberries & oatmeal werent enough!!!
To everyone out there that has kid stories to tell.. I wanna hear them. Its great to laugh & learn with other parents. So all of the parents that have daughters that think they can pee standing up & the boys that want to pick up all of the worms to keep mommy from driving over them... Im here cheering for you & with you!!!
